Working together to ensure rural landowners have a seat at the table in renewable energy development
The Renewable Energy Farmers of America (REFA) was founded to ensure that farmers and ranchers hosting renewable energy projects have the guidance, tools and representation they deserve. As part of that mission, REFA is partnering with three national organizations that share its commitment to rural leadership and landowner rights within the renewable energy space.
By working with Farm-to-Power, CROP (Center for Rural Opportunity and Power) and the Alliance for Energy Independence, REFA is expanding its reach and helping amplify the voices of producers shaping the future of renewable energy for rural America.
Meet REFA’s Mission-Aligned Partners
Farm-to-Power exists to share information and advance opportunities in renewable energy for rural America. Their work centers on elevating rural voices, building credibility for renewable energy in rural communities and ensuring landowner rights are upheld. The coalition offers educational resources online and supports local initiatives for wind and solar development projects.
CROP works to strengthen rural communities by helping landowners evaluate and benefit from renewable energy projects. The organization also uplifts the stories of community members in rural America who have found new opportunities through renewable energy. Their work emphasizes local ownership, economic resilience and keeping the benefits of renewable energy rooted in the communities where it’s built.
The Alliance for Energy Independence documents and shares real stories from farmers, ranchers and rural leaders who are already benefiting from renewable energy. Their work helps destigmatize renewable energy through storytelling and combats misinformation and confusion to build resilience and prosperity for rural communities.
Shared Values, Common Purpose
Each of these partners brings unique strengths to the table, but all are rooted in the same mission: to protect rural landowner rights, expand opportunity and make sure farmers and ranchers have a voice in the renewable energy movement.
Together, REFA and its partners are creating a stronger, more connected support system for landowners. If you are considering hosting a project, already leasing or simply want to be part of the conversation, REFA and its partners are here to help you protect your land, livelihood and legacy.
